The Kimberly process was designed by Southern African diamond producing countries to stop the flow of these conflict diamonds and to help protect legitimate diamond industries from becoming involved in the conflicts. These countries include the entire EU. The United States, Russia, Japan, and a host of African countries are all working together to help put an end to the use of blood diamonds to fund war and warfare.
